Association Yam-pukri

Ouagadougou, March 5, 2026 – The JATECH project has just reached a major milestone for the digital sector in Burkina Faso. The very first cohort of Digital Marketing specialists, named "Saaba" (the next generation), has completed its intensive 45-day training. This is only the beginning : these young talents, many of whom are women, are now starting a three-month internship in companies.

  • Tailor-made training for youth

What makes this cohort special is its recruitment. JATECH chose to give a chance to young people who were unemployed or out of school.

The result is impressive : a majority of motivated young women have decided to reinvent themselves through digital skills. For over 6 weeks, they learned the secrets of the web, online advertising, and digital communication.

  • Successful exams at Yam Pukri

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Yam Pukri Association hosted the end-of-training project defenses. In front of a jury, the students of the "Saaba" cohort successfully presented their projects.

Key takeaways from their presentations :

-# Solid technical skills : They master modern web tools (social media, Google search, data analysis).

-# Local creativity : Their ideas help businesses while respecting the environment (what we call Green Tech).

-# Professionalism : Despite the challenges, they showed they are ready for the working world.

"We went from being unemployed youth to real professionals. It is a source of immense pride !" – said a student after her defense.

Next step : 3 months of field internship

After theory comes practice ! Starting this week, the new graduates are heading off for a three-month professional internship.

This immersion in the business world will allow them to :

-# Apply what they have learned in real-life situations.

-# Introduce themselves to employers and build their network.

-# Find permanent employment more easily in the end.

More than just training, a commitment to women

The JATECH project wants to show that digital technology is a driver for change. By primarily training women, the project helps to :

-# Give more economic power to women.

-# Reduce inequalities in the tech world.

-# Create jobs that respect nature.

Bravo and thank you !

Congratulations to all the students of the "Saaba" cohort for their courage. A big thank you to the trainers, the Yam Pukri Association, and all the partners supporting this great adventure.

The next generation of digital marketing in Burkina Faso is here. Follow their journey ; they are going to make things happen !
